Introduction

Annex Training is a program/gym full of welcoming, kind, encouraging, and hard working individuals of all ages and all backgrounds. Although we are all unique individuals at different points in our fitness journey’s, we pursue excellence as one. We follow the age old beliefs of Positive Health in the sense that the interaction of genetics, nutrition, and exercise influences the spiritual, mental, and physical aspects of overall human health and happiness. Our program is designed to execute a systematic flow of novelty, variety, and constant challenges – physical and mental – all while balancing impo

Background story

After a lifelong pursuit of athletics, owner, Caitlin Hogan, developed the systems behind the Annex’s program. Realizing that health is a lifelong pursuit. A journey that one travels that is ever adapting and never perfected.

We all have fluid goals that change throughout the years – sport, body composition, strength, etc. – but what training all boils down to is our ability to stay healthy, strong, and happy into our later years in life. Because this goal is the same for all people walking in our doors, the Annex’s training is progressive, steady, challenging, and intelligent no matter the program. It aims to chip away at each body, regardless of background and training experience, to mold it into a stronger, better performing, and more confident being.

We are all Human Beings. We are all made of bone, tissue, muscles, water, and cells. The individuality comes into play in regards to specific goals. The Annex’s system acknowledges these goals, assesses the individual’s current capacity in regards to said goals, and works to fully control this capacity, create more stable capacities, and expand on the current limits. This holds true for strength, mobility, skill, fat loss, muscle building, or simply just working out. The process is never perfected as movement is never perfected.

Philosophy on training and human wellbeing

Hippocrates initiated the concept of “Positive Health” – Based on interactions of genetics, diet, and physical activity.

“Positive health requires a knowledge of human being’s genetics and of the powers of various foods. But eating alone is not enough for health – There must also be exercise. The combination of these two things makes regimen, when proper attention is given to the season of the year,
the changes of the winds, the age of the individual and the situation of their home. If there is
any deficiency in food or exercise the body will fall sick’(480 BC).”

At the Annex, we aim to not only build ands grow the body through proper strength and conditioning but to also interact these new adaptations with genetics and nutrition to influences positive changes in the spiritual, mental, and physical aspects of ones health.

We seek to progressively overload the body with parameters including aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, coordination, flexibility and body composition promoting growth, improving body functions and protecting from illness and injury.
