We do not create workouts, we build programs. The programming at the Annex is focused on sending consistent signals to the body to grow and recover. Whether you are a total newbie or a seasoned fitness enthusiast, we’ll give you a great workout every time you come to class! We understand that everyone starts at a different place, and our coaches are fully prepared to meet you where you are in your fitness journey.

CFLB (Community Fitness Long Beach)

CFLB brings you high intensity training at it’s finest. Workouts combine a variety of functional movements, gymnastics, power lifting, and olympic lifting. Each skill taught in a safe-learning environment aimed at continual and incremental improvement from one class to the next improving the skills of each athlete regardless of their current fitness levels. Two levels of programming will ensure each athlete is challenged in their movement patterns as well as their general fitness skills


Straight up strength training. One of our knowledgable coaches take athletes through a movement specific warm-up based on the daily lift – Squat, Press, or Deadlift. We will then break down the focal points of this lift and provide technical form instructions to educate and remind each athlete of important lifting details prior to performing. The coach on the floor will then carefully instruct each athlete as they progress through the strength programming. If you want to get stronger, this is the program for you.


All things Snatch and Clean & Jerk. Our Olympic Weightlifting Program is lead by two Team USA World Team Members – Ali Ludwig and Caitlin Hogan. This program is a two-tiered system aimed at getting our athletes more familiar with the intricacies of these lifts through a focused program and world-class coaching. Tier I is a competitive track aimed to prepare athletes for competition in Olympic Weightlifting. Tier II is a recreational track aimed to teach/improve technique of the Snatch and Clean & Jerk.


An individualistic practice performed in a large group setting. This class allows each athlete a self-assessment system allowing you the ability to monitor your own body for dysfunction that may be causing pain, loss of performance, or that may be putting you at an increased chance of injury. Kinstretch is a movement enhancement system that
develops maximum body control, flexibility and USABLE ranges of motion. We aim to capture your passive range of motion and make it active – making you a more capable human being for whatever test you put your body up against.


A 30min high intensity program utilizing our cardio machines and the most versatile piece of fitness equipment, the kettlebell. Your coach will start each session with a quick skill and workout breakdown ensuring you understand the movements involved in the session as well as the intent of each movement. At the call of 3, 2, 1, GO we are nonstop! Your heart rate and your ability to pace yourself will be challenged each day.


Sport specific training has become more important at earlier ages in all youth sports. Kids are specializing in sports and specific positions which doesn’t allow them to develop skills outside that specific sport. Throwing, swinging, hitting, skating, shooting, etc. Even off-season training is focused on improving precision in these skills. The one thing that is constantly overlooked is strength training. If athletes can improve their movement patterns, muscle function, strength, and power outside of their sport – they will improve all aspects INSIDE their chosen sport. Even for kids without athletic pursuits, understanding the importance of strength training and general health is
extremely important for a better quality of life.


This year-round comprehensive program focuses on strength, conditioning, mobility, durability, body composition change, skill development, and more through a structured and semi-customized plan. With two 60-minute sessions per week, of 4 or less athletes, you will be able to crush your fitness goals safely, efficiently, and consistently under the watchful eye of one of our qualified coaches. While the training is performed in a group setting, your programming is adapted to every individual to suit your specific fitness and experience level. We will meet you wherever you are on your fitness journey and help you succeed from there!
